Taming the wild beast...

Noah has already received the gift of taming wild animals from cute kitties to the ferocious king of the jungle, the mighty lion. As you can see by the picture Noah has tamed the ferocious 2 foot tall lion that came to our house. He didn't waste much time protecting his family by jumping on the back of this wild beast and wrestling it to the ground until it gave in to his demands. On the right side pic, it appears as though he is afraid of the lion but it was actually Noah taking control of the beast until it gave in to his new master(which is the pic on the left side). Now the lion has become another member of our family and a stepfather to our beloved Apex and Furca. We find that they nestle under Leo Lion's feet for the comfort they have been missing all these years. So Leo and Noah are best of pals. We have Aunt Christina and Uncle Slade to thank for this beautiful creature. Noah is having so much fun with this lion that I can only imagine what it will be like when he is older.

If you are ever in need of a wild animal tamer, please don't hesitate to call us so when can have Noah come right over. The gift has just begun and it needs practice so he can continue to reach out to all types of animals!!!

Meeting Santa, Neighborhood Hay Ride

Noah has already had his picture taken with Santa this year....he just couldn't hold back any longer. Our neighborhood invited Santa Claus to come for a visit and at the same time they hosted a hay ride drawn by horses to pull you through the neighborhood. It was very pretty, as they had luminaries that lite up the streets. We ended up skipping the hay ride because it was 30 degrees outside and Noah still has a cold....we didn't want it to get worse. Anyway, Noah did pretty well sitting on Santa's lap. He doesn't look very thrilled but there were no tears!!

Official SuperHero

Here's is the official super Noah poster. He hates wearing clothes, and bibs for that matter. So he has converted all of his bibs into capes and you may spot him flying through your neighborhood rescuing helpless kitties and puppies....or that's what mom would have her superhero do. So be on the lookout...he's an undersized super hero.

KU GAME NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

Ted and I were able to get away to a KU game the other night while Nana Nina and Papa Ed watched Noah for us. The tickets were also given to us by them so we have many thanks to them. It was my second game in many many years....always a great time no matter who they play. Plus it was great the night we went because they were unveiling the championship banner...so of course I made sure bring my camera to catch every moment. Notice the two male heads in pic of the field house...those happen to be our friends Seth and Mark. The unveiling was very cool though a little on the loud side. Hey, I like loud but this was a little too loud.

Preparing for winter

Noah is such a happy little man, we have so much fun with him!! Above, Noah is acting shy and modest but below he let us all know how cute he really is.

We bought Noah his first hat and mittens for this upcoming winter. It has already gotten chilly here a few times so they have been very useful. At times we can tell that Noah is only humoring us in these cute outfits that make Mom smile and laugh over him. I know he is really thinking "when will all of this dress up stuff be over!!!!!!!" That's when I, mom, say NEVER....look at Ted for example. I still get to take him to the mall and play dress up...it's so much fun.

First Halloween....

It was Noah's first costume and he chose to dress up as himself.....Noah and the Ark. I had to dig a little deeper on the creative side to come up with the outfit but did have some help for some coworkers. The most difficult piece was the beard, which I wasn't sure if Noah would wear it. But, with a little help from dad making funny faces, Noah kept the beard on long enough for a few pictures. I didn't get everything together in all the pictures but I think they each have the look we were going for. Enjoy the pics!!!
Later that night we headed up to Lawrence to visit our friends, James and Morgan's big Halloween bash. We met Gabe, John and Stacy son's who is a month and a half older than Noah. He was very cute and so much bigger than Noah. Unfortunately, we didn't get a picture of him but we would love to get together again soon.

Sorry for such a late post of the Halloween costume!!

Minnesota

We took our furthest road trip ever with Noah at the end of October to go visit Aunt Christina and Uncle Slade up in Rochester, Minnesota. The trip takes about 6 1/2 hours so we knew this was going to be tricky as Noah doesn't like hanging out in his car seat for very long. Luckily, on the way up he slept most of the way and I tried to entertain him during his wake time. We stopped off in Bethany, MO for a food stop at a horribly busy McDonald's...yummm. Ted was tending to Noah and I went to grab some ketchup which I placed right in front of Noah. I was worried at the time of Ted drinking my soda with his germy mouth when BAM!!! Noah took his flyswatter arm and splattered ketchup guts all up his arm as well as all over DAD!! I tried to hold back my smirk but couldn't resist. Ted remained cool headed and went to wash himself off. So the trip was off to a great start!! We arrived in Rochester about 6 pm and had some wonderfully lumpy potato soup which was absolutely delicious!! Then Noah decided to attack me - making sure things were fair between mom and dad. Without giving me a warning Noah spit up all over my shirt and pants from his dinner of oatmeal and milk----score even between parents. Later that evening Nana Nina, Papa Ed and Aunt Julie showed up to enjoy the weekend. We toured around the hospital and just relaxed. The main reason for the trip was to celebrate Aunt Christina and Nana Nina's birthdays. Plus dad always loves to eat so we hit some of his favorite stops like Kingdom Buffet(chinese food) and Pizza Ranch. One of the pics is Noah holding his own cat on a stick....dad just couldn't resist getting Noah started at the Chinese buffets!!! As the weekend came to an end we woke up on Sunday morning to find that it was about 35 degrees and snowing!!!! It was Noah's first snow!!!! We definitely couldn't wait to get back to Kansas to enjoy the warmer weather. It was a great trip and we enjoyed seeing everyone.

He has conquered many of firsts within the last few months. We don't have a pic to show but he has his bottom front teeth which he loves to show everyone by chewing on their fingers.

Good Friends..

It has been a few weeks ago when my good friend Theresa or Aunt Theresa, now, came up for a visit. At the same time another good friend came down from Minnesota and we all got together for some good mexican food, meeting each other's children and catching up on old times. Theresa stayed with us and wasn't bothered by Noah's occassional crying during the middle of the night. It was great to see them both as well as the little kiddos. Caren's kids are Andrew, 3 years old, and Katelyn(probably not spelled right), 2 years old. It was fun to watch them tackle Theresa but they loved her. Caren came down to KC with her Mom, Cathy, who had to attend a wedding. It was great to see them all since it had been 3 years since I was last up in Minnesota visiting them with Theresa.

Carved My Pumpkin

Here is Noah with his perfect sized pumpkin that we carved before Halloween. I was thinking about letting him try since the utensils are more his size anyway but I thought I should wait a few more years. He enjoyed the pumpkin alot and is in that stage where he grabs for everything. Plus it's alot of fun because he smiles so much!!!!

Pumpkin Patch

This last Sunday, Ted, Aunt Jessy, Aunt Jenny, Noah and myself drove up to Lawrence for our free Pizza Hut pizza for the month of October and then headed off to Shaake's Pumpkin Patch. It was a little windy that day but we wanted Noah to experience his first pumpkin selection. We did not however plan well for all of the pumpkins we found as we did not have a wagon or stroller or wheel barrel to place them in. A mental note was made so that in the future we would be prepared. The pumpkins seemed to be on the smaller size this year which worked perfectly for Noah - we found the perfect small pumpkin. Noah was all smiles once we got back home and got ready for bed. He enjoyed holding his pumpkin which will be carved later. We got a great family photo opportunity that we didn't pass up. As you can see it was very windy that day. Other pics were of our trip through the patch trying to find the best pumpkins to carve.

Go JAYHAWKS!!!!

Yes, Noah and Ted were watching the KU game this last weekend. Noah was all decked out in his KU attire-KU onesie, jean shorts and KU shoes!!! As you can see from the pic he is listening for the KU chant song as we did our victory dance at Uncle Darren's and Aunt Jenny's house(who by the way are K-State fans). It actually turns out that Noah has found his ears and enjoys playing with them when he remembers they are attached to the side of his head. We celebrated Uncle Darren's 29th birthday this saturday and played on his Wii....which was very fun and I would like to have one some day. On the very same day Noah turned 5 months old, which we celebrated by playing Wii at Uncle Darren's. Darren was so helpful after several drinks to show us how to play Mario cart and skiing. We hope that Darren had a great birthday!!

Gotta do some catch up...

We are a little behind on the fun things we have been up to recently so I am gonna try to catch up. We actually did more fun things the weekend we were back in Manhattan. It was the celebration of Uncle Bob's 90th birthday!!!! I, ironically, don't have any pictures of him but did take some of Noah and his cousin Claire. Claire is getting ready to turn 1 year old this friday. They seemed to enjoy staring at each. The last pic is of my Aunt Linda's cat, Dunkin. Isn't he huge???? He is like a small dog...I just love how enormous he is.

Trip to Manhattan

We headed back this last weekend to Manhattan to visit Grandma and Grandpa Ubel as well as to celebrate the 90th Birthday of Uncle Bob!! We were able to do and see a few things while we were back home. Ted and I went to the K-State game with Aunt Jenny and Uncle Darren, just to pass some time of course. Low and behold, we found out some buddies were tailgating near us and we never even knew it. It was an extremely hot day and we were even luckier to have seats in the upper deck-- direct sun exposure!

Noah and Grandpa Ubel went to see the cows down at cousin Michael's house. It was Noah's first time to go around the farm. We didn't see much of a reaction out of him at this time. But we had a great time back home and enjoyed seeing all of our family and friends.

Worlds of FUN!?!?!?!?!

Some of our family wanted to take a trip to Worlds of Fun this weekend so we thought why not take Noah for his FIRST trip there. It was a day full of many new sights and sounds for little Noah. He handled most of the day like a little trooper but did become restless and cranky around meal times. Mom, Aunt Jessy and Val were the only ones brave enough to ride the roller coasters and even mom had to limit herself to certain ones. We did make it to Camp Snoopy which will be the future rides for Noah, so he was checkin things out. It was funny to see the miniature version of the detonator and how the little kids would scream when they fell what seemed like an inch....it was cute. We took a few pics of mom and Noah in front of the Fury of the Nile, Aunt Jessy and Noah with Snoopy and some of the Gang in Camp Snoopy. Aunt Jessy won Noah the Mickey Mouse, blowing everyone out of the water.....even little Haley. But she did it all for her little nephew.......how sweet!!!! The other neat thing that started at Worlds of Fun this weekend was the haunted houses. We didn't make it to any of them but they had everything decorated for Halloween along with smoke foggers at night to give it that spooky atmosphere- Haley and Brittany enjoyed running through all the smoke. It would be another thing to check out when Noah gets a little older.
As we were at Worlds of Fun, Dad went up to Lawrence to watch the Jayhawks win big!!! Go HAWKS!!!!

Trying something new...

I have decided to give this blogging thing a shot even though I have failed miserably at emailing friends and family often. So, as other friends have done, I felt this would be a great way to keep everyone posted on Noah's accomplishments in life. I tend to be the crazy photo taking mom and need to put them to good use so I hope that everyone will enjoy. We have already flown through 4 months of enjoyment with our little guy and today being his 4 month birthday!!! Therefore, the story will begin now on the new adventures of tiny little super guy.......ENJOY!!
